Every teacher wants his students to study well, to study with interest and desire in school. The parents of the students are also interested in this. What pedagogical tools can be used to motivate students to acquire knowledge?
Learning motivation is a process that triggers, directs, and supports efforts to complete learning activities. It consists in the fact that the child gets pleasure from the activity itself, the significance for the personality of its immediate result. The following methods of motivation are distinguished. [2]
Emotional methods of motivation: encouragement, censure, educational and cognitive game, creation of vivid visual representations, free choice of tasks, satisfaction of the desire to be a significant person. Cognitive methods of motivation: relying on life experience, cognitive interest, creating a problem situation, performing creative tasks, brainstorming. Volitional methods of motivation: presentation of educational requirements, formation of a responsible attitude to learning, cognitive difficulties, self-assessment of activity and correction, reflection of behavior. Social methods of motivation: developing the desire to be useful to the fatherland, encouraging to imitate a strong personality, creating a situation of mutual assistance, seeking contacts and cooperation. [5]
A dynamic way to start a lesson is to use a technique such as "Let's smile at each other to a friend", which helps to establish contact between students within a few minutes. This technique develops communication skills, emotionally adjusts children. Creating a successful situation also helps motivate students to work actively during the lesson. During the front-end survey, it is advisable to teach the students to begin their answer with words: "I know that..." This technique helps to increase students' confidence in their linguistic competence.to increase students' confidence in their linguistic competence.
The brightest emotional means of forming cognitive interests is the game. The game puts the child in search conditions, awakens interest in winning, and hence the desire to be fast, collected, dexterous, resourceful, be able to accurately complete tasks, follow the rules of the game. For example, in the classification game, two teams can compete. A wide variety of sets can be classified. The main thing is that the set should be known to everyone and clearly limited. Training games come to the rescue in a difficult moment – to dissolve the boredom of monotony. The game “Dreamer”: the lesson topic is written on the blackboard, it is necessary to name 5 ways to apply knowledge, skills and abilities on this topic in life. You can also use a mutual question – students interview each other. [5]
The use of ICT is one of the most effective methods of increasing motivation and individualization of learning, developing creative abilities and creating a positive emotional background.
The essence of all these techniques is to attract interest in the upcoming work with something unusual, problematic, encouraging all students to get involved in the work from the first minutes of the lesson.
Motivation is one of the factors of successful learning of students in the classroom.
A decrease in the positive motivation of students leads to a decrease in the success and effectiveness of learning. The use of modern pedagogical technologies in educational activities forms a positive motivation of children, promotes the development of basic mental operations, communicative competence, and a creative active personality.
