Children's literature is intended to promote the moral, intellectual and aesthetic development of children. Books occupy a central place in the formation of a linguistic personality, enriching the child's mind and imagination, opening up new worlds, images and examples of behavior. It is an important tool for the spiritual growth of every child. The initial acquaintance of a young reader with literature occurs precisely through works specially created for children.

Children's literature began to take shape in the 19th century, especially since the 1930s. One of the first authors to write works specifically for children was a writer under the pseudonym Anthony Pogorelsky, known for his book The Black Hen. Up to this point, works now classified as children's (for example, the fairy tales of Charles Perrault and the Brothers Grimm) were created primarily for an adult audience.

Nevertheless, we believe that the Internet cannot completely replace reading books, which is crucial for a child's development. While reading books, children learn to be aware of the emotions and motives of others, develop the ability to empathize, rejoice with the characters, and develop their imagination, imagination, and spatial thinking. If from an early age children do not develop the need to turn to books as the main source of information in various fields of knowledge, this can negatively affect their further development.

Secondly, children's literature faces a number of significant problems, among which its lack of popularity should be noted. This situation affects almost all levels: young authors have difficulty publishing their work, and publishers face low sales and financial losses. The issue of the affordability of children's books is also an urgent problem that creates certain difficulties. Printing, as one of the most expensive industries, significantly affects the cost of children's publications. Nevertheless, it opens up vast possibilities for creating bright and attractive children's books. As a result, the price of such publications is rapidly increasing, which makes them inaccessible to many parents. Modern books are characterized by rich and colorful illustrations that attract the attention of children, but it is these aspects that contribute to increasing the cost of publication and reducing its circulation.

Currently, scientific and educational, reference and encyclopedic literature is practically not updated with new editions. The store shelves are mostly occupied by reprints of popular series of educational books. This creates restrictions for parents and children in access to relevant and up-to-date knowledge.

Despite the popularity of children's entertainment magazines, their limited practical value should be noted. Publications focused on psychological, pedagogical, or literary development have a lower circulation due to low demand compared to magazines about popular toys and fairy-tale characters. This indicates the propensity of the modern younger generation for superficial entertainment, neglecting the development of intellectual abilities. This trend may have a negative impact on the education and future of these children. Therefore, it is necessary to stimulate the interest of young people in materials that promote mental growth, as well as encourage the reading of serious literature and cognitive prose.
