STRUCTURE OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN

ABSTRACT

This article provides information on the structure of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan include military units, formations and units established and maintained by the state to protect the national interests, sovereignty, territorial integrity and peaceful life of the population, and to prevent and prevent wars and armed conflicts.The Republic of Uzbekistan consists of units and subdivisions of the Ministry of Defense, guards of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, paramilitary units of the National Security Service, and the Border Troops.By 2015, the Uzbek army will be ranked 48th in the world in the ranking of the world's armies, which includes the armed forces of 106 countries. [3] This is stated in the updated Global Firepower ranking. According to Global Fire Power (GFP) (as of March 2014), Uzbekistan currently has 420 tanks, 715 BTRs (armored vehicles), 109 missile systems, 70 fighter jets, 65 helicopters, including 25 attack helicopters and others. It has a large number of weapons, and the number of people who can carry weapons and serve in the army exceeds 15.7 million.

Among Central Asian countries, in addition to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan is also ranked 80th by the GFP. Among the countries closest to Uzbekistan, Afghanistan ranks 76th, while Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan are not included in the ranking.Among the CIS countries, the Baltic states and Georgia, Uzbekistan ranks 3rd after Russia (2nd) and Ukraine (21st). Azerbaijan (50th), Belarus (52), Georgia (64), Kazakhstan (80), Estonia (96) and Lithuania (103). Countries such as Armenia, Moldova and Latvia are not included in the ranking.According to the rankings, the US military is the most powerful, while the Russian and Chinese armies are in the top three. The armies of India, Britain, France, Germany, Turkey, South Korea and Japan are in the top ten.It should be noted that Uzbekistan was ranked 48th in the 2014 GFP rankings.

Engineering includes Aerodrome and Aviation-Technical, Topogeophysical and Hydrometeorological Units.The engineering and construction forces are designed to ensure the development of the Armed Forces' infrastructure in peacetime and to implement the state's strategic economic program, as well as to build defense facilities, communications, and rescue operations during wartime. Military camps and barracks, officer corps, accommodation for conscripts and their families, military clubs, kitchens and teahouses; the construction of schools, kindergartens, hospitals and medical centers, parks for military equipment and weapons, warehouses and garages for the children of servicemen - all these are the tasks of construction parts and units.Until 1999, the Border Troops were part of the National Security Service. By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated January 13, 1999, the State Border Protection Committee was established. The Committee is one of the central organs of public administration, implementing border policy and ensuring the protection and guarding of state borders;manages the activities of border troops; Coordinates the activities of local government bodies, local authorities, non-governmental and non-profit organizations in the field of protection and security of state borders. Today, the The Internal Troops are organized within the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Its main tasks are to maintain public order in residential areas, classified enterprises and other public places, to protect the legal and legitimate interests of citizens, and to organize organizations, agencies and institutions in cooperation with the police. protection from crime and anti-social behavior.The main task of the military structures of the National Security Service, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and other ministries and organizations is to perform specific tasks of national security, prevent natural and man-made emergencies, eliminate their consequences and protect the economy, enterprises and institutions.The Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan include the Land Forces, the Air Defense Forces and the Air Force, the Special Forces, the Border and Internal Troops, the Ministry of National Security, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and other military departments and agencies. The importance of fast moving (mobile) force units has now increased significantly.
