We live in a land where during the Great Patriotic War, every stone was abundantly watered with the blood of our grandfathers and great grandfathers. Stary Oskol was awarded the honorary title - City of Military Glory for courage, resilience and heroism, shown by the defenders of the city in the fight for freedom and independence of the Fatherland.
The problem ofpreschool children patriotic education is very relevantnowadays. To instill in children a sense of patriotism, it is necessary to carry out a range of activities.
Solving the problems of patriotic education, the teacher should build his work usingthe following principles:
- knowledge must be age-appropriate;
- continuity and succession of the pedagogical process;
- a differentiated approach to each child, the maximum consideration of his or her psychological peculiarities, abilities, and interests;
- the principle of integration, which allows to combine in one work aspects of such scientific and universal knowledge as music, drawing, etc;
- the rational combination of different types of activity, an age-appropriate balance of intellectual, emotional and motor loads;
- developmental nature of learning, based on children's activity.
Meetings with veterans, talks about the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, drawing and poetry contests help to bring up a patriot of Motherland.
Native town... The place where you were born and live... Your small Motherland... It is necessary to show the child that your native town is famous for its history, traditions, sights, monuments and the best people.
Stary Oskol - the City of Military Glory! On May 5, 2011 the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev signed assignment decrees to the towns of Stary Oskol, Kolpino and Anapa the honorary title and for courage, steadfastness and heroism shown by the defenders of the city in the fight for freedom and independence of the Fatherland, to award the city of Stary Oskol the honorary title of the Russian Federation "City of Military Glory".
Unfortunately, nowadays most children do not know when the Great Patriotic War was and who fought against whom. From alreadypre-school age we need to acquaint children with the events of the war years. "Love for the Fatherland", "Obligationto the Motherland" - these important concepts should be explained to children on concrete examples from the lives of participants in the Great Patriotic War, their labor and frontline exploits. It is important to explain to children that we won because we love our Motherland. And our Motherland remembers its heroes who gave their lives for a peaceful sky over our heads. Streets and squares are named after them, and monuments are erected in their honor.
There is a museum of local history in our city and one of the halls of which is dedicated to military and historical events. An excursion to the museum is one of the activities to foster a sense of patriotism in children. The exhibition of the Military History Hall clearly shows what a huge contribution Belgorod Region with the whole country together made to the victory over Nazi Germany.There are photographs and reproductions reflecting the events of the war years, photocopies of documents of that era, items related to it (samples of uniforms, shells, combat uniforms, awards). A great part of the exposition is devoted to the Battle of Kursk Bulge. А railroad from Stary Oskol to Rzhava was built within 32 days оn the eve of the decisive battles near Prokhorovka to provide an uninterrupted supply of cargo to the front. There is a monument to the heroes-builders in our city.A feat of 17 heroes at Nabokino, which confronted 500 fascists, is one of the feats that will always live in our hearts. Photos of heroes and authentic documents are stored in the museum. Now there is a monument at the place of the feat at Maysukov's booth. One of the most heroic pages in the history of this region is its liberation on February 5, 1943.
More than 15 thousand citizens of Stary Oskol who went to the front and stood on the Fatherland seasides from the Barents Sea to the Black Sea, never saw their native land again.
Little residents of Stary Oskol should know their history and their heroes. Excursion to the museum will help children to visualize the events of the war years, as well as will develop children's love for their Motherland, curiosity, attentiveness and observation.
When organizing work on patriotic education it is necessary to take into considerationthe age of preschool children and their capabilities.
An excursion is one of the forms of educational work with children, which forms children's attitude to their country, their land, their city.
