In a market economy, the main task facing manufacturing enterprises is to produce competitive products. Therefore, improving the quality of products and services is one of the most important issues today. Improving the quality of products and services is a strategic problem, and the stabilization of the country's economy depends on solving these problems. The process of quality improvement is necessary not only to make more profit from the sale of products or services, but also for the society and its development.

Quality management and certification activities reflect the modernity of production in many sectors of the economy and in all industries, integrated automation of technological processes, ensuring a high level of quality of various manufactured and imported products, compliance with regulatory requirements, safety of consumer products for the population. The templates use of world standards with many years of experience and their implementation in our country. (Fig.1)

Quality is a set of characteristics that describe the ability of a product or service to meet specified requirements or expected needs. The accuracy achieved by qualified personnel and appropriates technology, as well as the efficiency of production and labor, lead to the satisfaction of consumer demand and quality.

In the economy, quality assurance plays an important role in the development of production technologies, increasing the export potential of products and ensuring the competitiveness of the enterprise by introducing and certifying the quality management system developed in the enterprise.[1]

Figure 1. Quality management process

Modern market economy has radically different requirements for the quality of products. This is due to the fact that the survival of any firm today, the stability of the market for goods and services is determined by its level of competitiveness. Competitiveness, in turn, depends on two indicators - the level of price and the level of quality of the product, the second of which, in terms of its importance, gradually overtakes the indicators of labor productivity, saving all kinds of resources.

Quality as a factor of competitiveness extends to the entire national economy. It helps to use resources wisely. In addition, product quality is an important indicator of the company's performance. Improving product quality is a line of work for all the world's leading companies.

Competitiveness is the ability to withstand competition, to resist it. In this case, the term "competitiveness" applies to both goods (services) and enterprises, firms and other organizations.

Lending, investment, incentives depend on product quality. For example, a number of European countries have laws that prohibit certain products from entering the market without quality certification. This certificate confirms that the quality of the product meets the requirements of the International Organization for Standardization - ISO standards. Other uncertified products are required to be sold at twice the price.

The desire of companies around the world to improve the quality of products is due to the presence of different levels of quality. In this regard, the methods and tools that ensure the improvement of product quality are crucial in the production process.

One such method is to organize the work in accordance with generally accepted norms and standards that help to organize the improvement of the quality of the product or service in the activities of the enterprise. Currently, one of these standards is the international standard ISO 9000, on the basis of which it is possible to create a quality system in the enterprise. The universality of ISO standards is that they do not offer absolute quality criteria for each type of product or service. This is not possible: quality is the ability to meet people’s needs for a product or service, and the needs are diverse. The ISO 9000 family standards not only define the methodology of the quality system, which in turn is to ensure the high quality of products and services produced by the enterprise, in other words - to ensure the highest level of customer requirements.[2,3]

In conclusion, based on the above theoretical and practical knowledge, we are once again convinced that the role of quality management in ensuring the quality and reliability of products is high, and in the future to produce high-quality, competitive products in each country. and economic stability without losing consumers.
