Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects communication, behavior, and the ability to adapt to social situations in children. Recent decades have seen an increase in the diagnosis of ASD, highlighting the importance of finding effective support and treatment methods for children with this disorder. Art therapy has become one of the approaches that attracts the attention of researchers and practitioners in the field of helping children. Art therapy is a therapeutic approach that uses the process of creativity and expression through art to help people understand and resolve their emotional and psychological problems. In the context of children, art therapy is a powerful tool for allowing children to express feelings and thoughts that may be difficult to express in words. In this article, we will review various art therapy techniques used for children with ASD and discuss their effectiveness in improving communication, social skills, and emotional well-being in these children. We will also examine the challenges that professionals and parents face when using art therapy, and offer recommendations for optimizing this approach in practice [2, 683 p.].

Art therapy is a therapeutic approach that uses the process of creativity and expression through art to help people resolve their emotional and psychological problems. Аrt therapy can be an effective tool in supporting their development and adaptation to the world around them. One of the main characteristics is limited communication and perception of the world around them. In this regard, traditional methods of therapy based on verbal interaction may not be effective. Art therapy offers an alternative pathway that allows children to express their thoughts, feelings and experiences through creative processes such as painting, sculpture, music, dance and drama. As part of art therapy, various methods can be used depending on the individual characteristics of each child. For example, painting and sculpture can help children express their emotions and thoughts in visual form, while music and dance can help develop motor coordination and social skills. Numerous studies support the effectiveness of art therapy in improving communication, social skills and emotional well-being in children. This approach can also promote creativity, self-expression and self-esteem in children, which is important for their overall development and interaction with the world around them. However, despite its many positive aspects, art therapy can also present challenges. Some children may have difficulty understanding instructions or concentrating on art-related tasks. In addition, some art therapy methods may require additional adaptations to be adequately used with children with ASD [1, 48 p.].

Here are some examples of art therapy techniques that can be effective for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Providing children with a variety of drawing and painting materials can help them express their thoughts and emotions without the need to use words. This process can also help develop hand motor skills and coordination. Working with clay, play dough, or other sculpting materials can be beneficial. This method allows them to use tactile sensations to create creativity and express their feelings. Using musical instruments, sound toys, or simply listening to music can help to regulate their emotions, improve auditory perception, and develop musical skills. Dance and movement activities can help children improve their coordination, flexibility and spatial awareness, as well as develop social skills through sharing movements with other children. Role-playing and drama activities can help children develop their social skills. These art therapy techniques can be tailored to the individual needs and interests of each child and used as part of a comprehensive approach to their development and support [4, 183 p.].

Supporting children with autism spectrum disorder requires a comprehensive and individualized approach. Educating parents, caregivers, teachers and others about ASD can help create an understanding and supportive environment for children with the disorder. Learning how to better understand and interact with children can improve their quality of life. Each child with ASD is unique, so it is important to develop an individualized support plan that takes into account their specific needs, interests and abilities. Various types of therapy such as behavioral therapy, speech therapy, art therapy, etc. can help children develop skills in social interaction, communication, self-regulation, and adaptation to changing situations. An appropriate educational environment that takes into account the needs of children can significantly impact their success. Individualized education plans, special teachers, and learning support can help children develop and reach their potential. Children often do better in structured and predictable environments. Providing them with clear rules, schedules can help them feel more comfortable and confident. Communication skills training, social play sessions, and group activities can help to improve their communication skills. Parental and family support plays a key role in the success of children with ASD [3, 1063 p.].

There are also various initiatives to support children with autism. One example of such an initiative is a non-profit organization that provides assistance to children with autism. It is an active parent community with over 13,000 participants. The main goal of this organization is to provide maximum support to families raising children with autism and other mental disorders. The organization aims to expand its programs and resources to reach more families and provide them with access to various forms of assistance. The organization also plans to develop partnerships with specialists, government agencies, and other organizations to ensure a comprehensive approach to helping children with autism and their families. It actively collaborates with the Department of Education and the Department of Health of the city of Moscow, city hospitals, and the Federal Resource Center for Autism to exchange best practices and work together. The organization also supports scientific research in the field of autism and collaborates with research institutions, funding research projects aimed at developing new methods of diagnosis, treatment, and support for people with autism. It also organizes events and campaigns to raise public awareness about autism and to combat negative stereotypes and prejudices. The organization aims for sustainable development and plans to seek new sources of funding to ensure long-term support for its programs. It also pays great attention to the quality of its services and strives for continuous improvement of its programs based on best practices and scientific research. Finally, the organization advocates for the rights of children with autism and their families, working with lawmakers and participating in the development of policies aimed at improving their living conditions and support.

In conclusion, supporting children with autism spectrum disorder requires a comprehensive and individualized approach that takes into account their unique needs, interests, and abilities. A variety of support methods, including education, therapy, structured environments, and social support, play an important role in improving the quality of life and development of children with that disease. The collaborative efforts of parents, teachers, therapists, and the community at large can make a significant contribution to the successful development and adjustment of children with ASD. Further research and practice initiatives in support have an important role to play in raising awareness, improving support practices and promoting more inclusive environments for all children, including those living with that disease. It is therefore important to continue to develop and disseminate knowledge and resources aimed at helping this vulnerable group of children and their families to ensure they are able to fully participate in society and realize their potential [5, 1013 p.].
