ORGANIZATION OF INDEPENDENT WORK OF STUDENTS
ABSTRACT
According to the decree The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, starting from the 2020/2021 academic year, the educational process in higher educational institutions is gradually being transferred to a credit-modular system. The document approved the Regulations on the introduction of a credit-modular system in the educational process of universities.
Keywords: credit-modular system, independent work, intermediate control, practical skills.
A necessary condition for a credit-modular system is the correct organization of independent work. At the Department of Histology and Medical Biology on the subject of medical biology and genetics, independent work is carried out in two forms: classroom and extracurricular. In extracurricular work, for independent study by students, topics are quite fully set out in textbooks. For self-control, the student is invited to answer situational tasks and test questions on each topic of the lesson. In the course of self-study in the workbook, the student is required to fill in the terms for each individual topic. Such records help students to consolidate knowledge, and also serve as an indicator of active work, the records are checked by the teacher. An important point in the control of independent work at the department is the solution of situational problems. Classroom independent work is carried out with the direct participation of the teacher. Students in the classroom independently make temporary micropreparations, work with a microscope.
Independent work - planned educational, educational, research, research work of students, performed outside the classroom (classroom) time on assignment and with the methodological guidance of the teacher, but without his direct participation (with partial direct participation of the teacher, leaving the leading role for the work of students).
Independent work of students in the university is an important type of educational and scientific activity of the student. Independent work of students plays a significant role in the rating technology of education. In this regard, education at a university includes two parts that are almost identical in volume and mutual influence - the learning process and the self-learning process. Therefore, the SIW should become an effective and purposeful work of the student.
The solution of these problems is impossible without increasing the role of students' independent work on educational material, strengthening the responsibility of teachers for the development of independent work skills, for stimulating the professional growth of students, fostering creative activity and initiative.
Society imposes a fairly wide list of requirements on a modern specialist in the field of medicine, among which the graduates have certain skills (competences) and the ability to independently obtain knowledge from various sources, systematize the information received, and evaluate a specific professional situation. The formation of such a skill occurs during the entire period of study through the participation of students in practical classes, the performance of control tasks and test work. At the same time, independent work of students plays a decisive role in the course of the entire educational process.
The tasks of the SIW in terms of the formation of the above competencies are:
- systematization and consolidation of the received theoretical knowledge and practical skills of students;
- deepening and expansion of theoretical knowledge;
- formation of skills to use normative, legal, reference documentation and special literature;
- development of cognitive abilities and activity of students: creative initiative, independence, responsibility and organization;
- formation of independent thinking, abilities for self-development, self-improvement and self-realization;
- development of research skills;
- the use of material collected and received in the course of self-study at seminars, practical and laboratory classes, when writing control (and final qualifying works), for effective preparation for passing intermediate and final control, state final certification and primary accreditation of a specialist.
