Introduction

The background. In recent decades, the amount of information in society in general and information used in the enterprise in particular has increased dramatically. This is due to the growing the pace of development of science and technology, the emergence of new technologies, their rapid replacement.

Conditions have developed on the market that require constant monitoring of its state, its changes, trends in its development, it is necessary to be able to foresee the further development of the situation and be ready to change the strategy and processes. In a rapidly developing world and in the era of development of technology and the Internet, companies need to keep up with new trends; otherwise, a competitor faster will crowd them out.

Analysts at Markets & Markets estimate the size of the global business process management market in 2020 at $ 8.8 billion and expect its average annual growth of 10.5% until 2025, when it will reach $ 14.4 billion. Integration in BPM solutions for artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies, the need to automate business processes to reduce errors and improve IT systems in accordance with the ever-changing needs of customers. BPM is most in demand in industries such as manufacturing, financial services and insurance, telecommunications. New needs and desires are formed on the market, both on the part of clients or customers, and on the part of employees, top-managers. The challenge that most corporations fail to meet is realizing the business opportunities are in IT. Assessments of the development of business process management are, for the most part, of a qualitative nature: experts speak of an increase in demand and an increase in customer literacy.

It is difficult to give precise estimates, but growth in recent years has exceeded 10%, which is quite good for a mature market. In the past couple of years, it has received a certain acceleration due to the general attention to the tasks of digital business transformation and the transition to paperless technologies, and they cannot be adequately solved without the active involvement of process management systems [1, p.5].

A.Ganin [3, p.17] tells about the importance of using IT in our business reality, he said that business process management of any enterprise involves building a unified information space, which includes an integrated software and hardware telecommunications environment that provides continuous data exchange and unites all information resources of the enterprise. The complexity of building and managing business processes today is far beyond the so-called manual labor, and the functions of analysis and calculation of all production and management parameters have been moved to the field of IT.

The problem statement. The use of information technology in working with business processes allows companies to quickly update data and also provides an opportunity to work faster and better than competitors. This study is aimed at analyzing the impact of modern information technologies on the way an organization works, on reengineering and automation of business processes.

Companies must manage to respond to market dynamics, create, maintain and deepen a competitive advantage. All of the above tasks are possible to perform when the company has resources, both monetary and technical, and the company's employees are ready for changes. At the same time, scalability is critical to remain competitive, especially if competing organizations start to implement new customer engagement strategies that can be replicated multiple times over digital channels using automated processes. The use of modern optimization and automation tools ensures simultaneous growth in profit and quality in almost any industry.

The literature review

Information systems in a certain way affect the formation, implementation of business processes and thereby affect their reengineering. The tasks solved in the reengineering process are characterized by a high degree of complexity and great responsibility. It is impossible to re-engineer and optimize a process without a strong methodology and technological basis. Information technologies create the key prerequisites for reengineering business processes, offer new solutions for the execution of processes.

Evidence recently presented by Taulli [4, p. 17] indicates that robotic process automation (RPA) can be a fast, low-risk starting point for automating processes that rely on outdated legacy systems. Bots can pull data from manual systems without APIs into digital processes, ensuring faster and more efficient outcomes. Robotic Process Automation enables enterprises to create true virtual workforces that drive business agility and efficiency. A virtual workforce, comprised of software robots that can execute business tasks on enterprise applications, becomes an integral part of an enterprise’s greater workforce. It is managed just as any other team in the organization and can interact with people just as other employees would interact with one another. Virtual workers (robots) complete business processes, just as a person would, but in less time, with greater accuracy and at a fraction of the cost. In light of all this, RPA is likely to have a significant impact on the workplace because more and more of the repetitive processes will be automated away. One potential consequence is that there may be growing job losses. A survey from Forrester predicts that – as of 2025 – software automation will mean the loss of 9% of the world’s jobs or 230 million.

Asatiani & García [2, p.13], who show recent advances in machine intelligence are disrupting the world of business processes. Over the last decade, there has been steady progress towards the automation of business processes under the umbrella of “robotic process automation” (RPA). However, we are currently at an inflection point in this evolution, as a new paradigm called “Intelligent Process Automation” (IPA) emerges, bringing machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to bear in order to improve business process outcomes. The business process management (BPM) industry is expected to approach $16 billion by 2023. With recent advances in machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI), the automation of steps in a business process – which came to be known as Robotic Process Automation (RPA) – is undergoing a radical transformation. The industries that are most eager to adopt automation are transportation, manufacturing, packaging and shipping, customer service, finance, and healthcare paying attention to the researches that were done earlier, the topic of the impact of IT on the reengineering of business processes has been studied.

To conclude, the study is an attempt to advance understanding of the importance of IT in modeling, reengineering, optimization and automation of business processes. They play a key role in the efficiency of business processes, in their ability to quickly adapt to the market. With continuous business development and the complication of processes, the IT infrastructure must be able to support all changes accompanied by the active introduction of new information technologies, such as cloud solutions, big data, mobile services, AI and ML, etc. Companies with an efficient IT infrastructure get serious competitive advantage.
