Introduction: Nowadays, cities in different countries have changed dramatically. They began to differ from each other in various indicators: the level of urbanization, the quality of the urban environment and public spaces, the development of tourist sites and their attractiveness. The development of tourism took place adjacent to the development and formation of urban culture. The developed urban environment and high level of public spaces serve as an incentive for tourist visits to the city.

Urban space often acts as a point of attraction for tourists to the city. A well-developed urban space serves as a place of leisure and recreation for city residents, as well as their guests. However, tourism itself has a significant impact on the city’s environment. A large flow of tourists makes a significant contribution to the development of the city itself, its spaces and transformations.

In urban tourism, the city acts as the center, the heart of the journey. It has a large number of tourist attraction points. Such points are the architecture of the city, the level of urbanization, transport and other components that act as objects necessary for the life of the city and its population. In addition, tourists are interested in cultural monuments, museums, theaters, art objects and transformed spaces.

Materials and methods: An important place for increasing the tourist flow of the city is given to art objects, graffiti and street art works. Such objects of the urban environment can be found in the city center or on the outskirts of the city.

Previously, street art objects in the city could arise spontaneously, which often caused discontent among local residents and city authorities. This was due to the low level of street art and the lack of professionals in this field. However, now the level of street art has increased and an increasing number of artists and designers are being involved in the transformation of objects in the urban environment. Such experiments are typical for many European countries, but such objects can also be found in Russia. They contribute to the transformation of small industrial forms, for example the work of street artist Kreemos, in which art objects are introduced into the public space of industrial Almetyevsk. This space has become the center of the city’s tourist flows; various excursions and exhibitions are held in this space, and master classes are held.

An example of the transformation of an industrial facility or urban support facility can be observed in our city. In the Lenin park art object became a pumping station, it was the legacy of the engineer Shukhov.[4] For this purpose, a competition was created, based on the results of which the best work was selected, which decorated the pumping station. Vladimir Shukhov gave the world mesh structures, invented oil cracking and the world's first cylindrical oil storage tanks, and designed steam water-tube boilers. He created many inventions that advanced science and technology.

This art object decorated the appearance of the city park and helped attract tourists to the city, as well as the creation of art festivals in the city of Belgorod. It also became one of the objects of cultural and educational tourism, conveying with its appearance the history of one of the residents of Belgorod.

Visiting such objects or art festivals can act as a separate part of tourism (street art tourism) or as part of some type of tourism. As part of event tourism, visiting art festivals serves as the purpose of visiting the city; as part of cultural and educational tourism, art objects serve as a method of transmitting the culture of the city.

Conclusion: Thanks to street art objects and the creation of thematic spaces around them, an increasing number of tourists are attracted to develop urban tourism, as well as cultural, historical, event and other types of tourism. Moreover, new art objects serve as new attractions of the city and enhance its cultural image, which is of interest to both local residents and visitors to the city.
