Modern society is characterized as a process of civilizational evolution accompanied by globalization, informatization and global digitalization of socio-economic and socio-cultural relations. The development potential of individual countries is measured and predicted based on the priority of the human factor, and the ability to develop and use human potential is taken as the basis for assessing the level of development of countries. New socio-economic conditions in society require the expansion of the functions of workers with narrow qualifications to those with broad capabilities.
The philosophical aspects of digital ethics help us understand the fundamental principles, values, and norms that underlie human interactions with digital technologies.
Digital ethics is becoming an important field that provides a basis for understanding and regulating the interaction between humans and digital technologies, and its philosophical aspects contribute to a deeper understanding of the ethical issues facing modern society.
Digital ethics covers a wide range of issues related to the use of computers, the Internet, artificial intelligence, big data, cybersecurity, and other aspects of the digital environment [4].
The theory of innovative development links the digital transformation of education with new learning models, technological advances and adaptation to the digital society, while the philosophical foundations of the digitalization of education examine how technologies change the nature of humanity, cognition, and raise questions about the risk of dehumanization through humanization, gamification and dependence on algorithms, as well as the need to protect fundamental education in the context of innovation.
Thanks to various social institutions operating in the moral sphere, the behavior of a member of a professional group is adjusted to the patterns, norms and standards accepted in the group and society. Experts can only adequately fulfill their social role on the basis of unified ethical norms [1, p.21]
Considering digitalization from the perspective of various philosophical trends allows us to gain a deeper understanding of how these technologies affect our society and what philosophical principles can be applied to analyze their impact.
The philosophical foundations of digital ethics include the following:
- Identity Transformation: It raises the question of whether digitalization is transforming people from knowledge subjects into objects controlled by algorithms and whether thinking and social skills are being degraded.
- Gamification: Turning learning into entertainment can lead to superficial learning and "digital dementia" by replacing deep analysis.
- Critique of the mechanistic approach: Comparing digitalization with the humanistic values of the past.
- Risk and Security: The philosophy of risk encompasses the threats posed by digital technologies and the need to develop security-based approaches.
The methodology of modern social work is based on systematized knowledge obtained as a result of the analysis of scientific research and experience, taking into account local characteristics and specific contexts [2, p.60].
Trends in social development lead to contradictions and risks of various orders in the socio-natural sphere, including at the level of collective and individual consciousness, which requires a socio-philosophical understanding of the problem of consciousness management in the context of the information society.
The essence of social work consists in assisting individuals, families, groups in exercising their social rights and in compensating for physical, mental, intellectual, social and other deficiencies that impede full social activity, in order to provide a certain level of socio-cultural support to the social subject and the environment in which it exists[3, p.11].
The socio-philosophical foundations of digital ethics in the information society should be studied in the context of the main features of the information society, which should be perceived as "an open self-organizing system encompassing numerous interconnected information flows and information fields" [5, p. 9]. The crisis conditions of modern society are associated with contradictions between the natural, spiritual and technogenic aspects of social development and require a socio-philosophical understanding of the problem of the digital transformation of society and its impact on public consciousness.
In the field of digital ethics, privacy refers to the right of an individual to control their personal data and to protect themselves from unwanted intrusion. Digital ethics emphasizes the importance of respecting users' online privacy by limiting the collection and use of their personal data.
Justice and equality. An ethical principle aimed at ensuring equal access to digital resources and opportunities and preventing digital inequality. Digital ethics requires the development of technologies that take into account the interests and needs of different social groups and reduce the digital divide.
Data security. Ensuring the protection of digital data from unauthorized access, interference, and leaks. Digital ethics encompasses the development and use of technologies that ensure data security, as well as transparency and accountability in data processing.
Consent and transparency principle. Respect for individual autonomy, requiring consent for data collection and use, and ensuring clarity and transparency regarding digital processes. Digital ethics require users to be aware of how their data is being used and to provide informed consent.
Principle of responsibility and fairness. Effective and appropriate use of digital technologies, responsibility for potential consequences. Digital ethics encompasses the principle of fairness in information interactions and the responsibility of the developer, operator or user.
Right to digital literacy. Emphasizes the importance of ensuring access to digital literacy education to increase the understanding and skills necessary for the effective and safe use of digital technologies.
These principles of digital ethics serve as a basis for the development of norms, standards and policies aimed at creating an ethical digital environment.
In the context of digital ethics, philosophical analysis reflects complex issues and problems related to the impact of digital technologies on human life and values, it touches on various aspects, including moral and ethical norms, human rights, social justice, privacy, freedom of expression and others.
One of the main questions of philosophical analysis is how digital technologies affect our understanding of ethics and morality. This analysis examines how digital technologies are changing moral beliefs and values and creating new ethical dilemmas, for example in the context of artificial intelligence or genetic engineering.
Another important aspect of philosophical analysis is the issue of justice and equality in the digital society. This analysis examines how digital technologies can increase or reduce social inequality, as well as what ethical principles should guide the development of digital systems and infrastructure. There are discussions about which privacy and freedom of expression rights should be prioritized in the digital era, and what ethical principles should be observed when collecting, storing and using digital data.
The exploration of these philosophical questions allows for a better understanding of the complex ethical and moral issues associated with the digital age and contributes to the development of a conscious and ethical approach to the use of digital technologies in society.
